Privacy Policy

Your money data is yours. This policy explains, in plain language, what we collect, why, and the promises we make — starting with the big one: we never sell or share your personal data.

The short version

We collect only what's needed to run the app. We don't sell your data, we don't share it with advertisers, and we don't track you across other apps or sites. Your financial data is encrypted, and you can export or delete it any time.

1. Who we are

ClearWays ("we", "us", "our") builds simple, privacy-first apps for everyday life, including ExpenSave. This Privacy Policy covers the ClearWays website and all ClearWays apps. If you have any questions, reach us any time at [email protected].

2. What we collect

We deliberately keep this list short. We only collect what the app genuinely needs to work:

  • Account basics — your email address and, optionally, a display name, so you can sign in and sync across devices.
  • Data you enter — the expenses, budgets, bills and notes you choose to add. This is yours; we simply store it for you.
  • Basic diagnostics — anonymous crash reports and performance data so we can fix bugs. These are never tied to your financial data.

We do not collect your contacts, your location, your browsing history, or any advertising identifiers.

3. How we use it

Your data is used for one purpose: to give you the app. Specifically, to sync your information across your devices, show you your spending and insights, send the reminders you ask for, and keep the service secure and running smoothly.

We will never use your financial data to build an advertising profile, and we will never make automated decisions about you.

4. We don't sell or share your data

This is the heart of how we operate. We do not sell your personal data to anyone. We do not share it with advertisers, data brokers, or social networks. There is no "anonymized data" side-business here.

The only times your data leaves our systems are narrow and necessary:

  • Trusted infrastructure providers who store and process data strictly on our behalf, under contracts that forbid them from using it for anything else (for example, our cloud hosting and our bank-connection provider).
  • When the law requires it — for example, a valid legal order. Even then, we push back on overly broad requests and tell you when we're allowed to.

That's the complete list. No exceptions for marketing, partnerships, or "improving our products" with third parties.

5. How we protect it

Your data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Bank connections are read-only and handled by a regulated, industry-standard provider — we never see or store your bank login. Access to production systems is limited to a small number of staff and is logged and reviewed.

6. Your rights & choices

It's your data, so you're in control. At any time you can:

  • Export everything you've added, in a portable format.
  • Delete your account and all associated data — permanently, within 30 days.
  • Correct any information that's wrong.
  • Opt out of optional diagnostics and any product emails.

To exercise any of these, just email [email protected] or use the in-app settings.

7. Data retention

We keep your data only for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we erase your personal data within 30 days, except where we're legally required to keep limited records (such as basic billing history).

8. Children

ClearWays apps are not directed at children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we'll remove it.

9. Changes to this policy

If we make a meaningful change, we'll update the date above and notify you in the app or by email before it takes effect. We'll never quietly weaken your privacy.

10. Contact us

Questions about your privacy? We'd genuinely like to hear from you at [email protected]. We aim to reply within two business days.
